Healthy Cleansing Part 3 – Spirit

This article is Part 3 of the 3-Part Series “Healthy Cleansing: Body, Mind, and Spirit”. Read Part 1 – Body and Part 2 – Mind.

The Spirit, your Spirit, has no blemishes.

It is pure, clean, and perfect, in every way.

All that our Spirits want is for us to know is that our loving Spirit is there, and wishes to connect with us as much as possible. To know that we are as our Spirits are – pure and whole.

Aligning with our spirit helps us to really feel this and know this. Then, living from this truth, life takes on a whole new clarity and meaning.

How Do I Cleanse My Spirit?

To truly cleanse our Spirit means to cleanse our view of our experience so that we acknowledge and appreciate to beauty of all things. In everyone we meet, in ourselves, connecting with our Spirits heart to heart. Lifting the fog, so that we can use our higher awareness.

It means to choose the life giving, supportive, and life-promoting option.

Doing what feels right in our hearts, souls, minds, and bodies, and saying no to what doesn’t.

That is how we cleanse our Spirit.

What Our Spirits Want

Your Spirit is happiest when you are happy. For real. Your Spirit is always proud of you. Always cheering you on. Your Spirit is free of the attachments you have to this life but wants to see you fulfilled. To help you become fulfilled. To be full of prosperity of Spirit.

Our Spirits want us to know that we are infinite possibilities and potential. They want us to connect with our highest self and greatest good.

Nurturing Your Spirit

To nurture and feed our spirits, we feed ourselves all the good of life. We honor our Spirit by giving it the experience of living our life to its fullest beauty. Using all of our senses to appreciate this opportunity of being present and alive in this physical body.

Some Ways to Support Your Spirit

  • Follow your heart.
  • Practice gratitude.
  • Get rid of clutter.
  • Say no to things in your life that aren’t in alignment with your/the greatest good.
  • Remove self-imposed obstacles.
  • Recognize and take action on anything in your life that your intuition is calling you to do.
  • Play music that you love.
  • Release inhibitions.
  • Create in full color.
  • Savor healthy, living foods.
  • Honor what you take in to your body.
  • Practice regular self-care.
  • Laugh.
  • See everything you can see – really see it.
  • Love with your whole heart.
  • Forgive someone.
  • Forgive yourself.
  • Ask “What makes my Spirit dance, sing, and soar?” Do those things as much as possible.
  • Be vulnerable.
  • Do a good deed.
  • Spend time being a part of nature.
  • Take time to connect with your Spirit in any way you can.
  • Travel and be open to new experiences and connections.
  • Give yourself down time to renew and regenerate.
  • Sit in silence.
  • Dance in ecstasy.
  • Shout from a mountaintop.

There are also many holistic and spiritual practices that can connect us to our Spirits. Energy Work/Clearing, Dream Work, Intuitive Art, Guided Meditations, and Playing Music through Spirit are all methods I have tried and enjoyed.

My Spirit loves uninhibited creativity, inspirational quotes and stories of overcoming the perceived impossible. Of vulnerability in the face of judgment. She loves fresh fruit, thinking about the mystery of the universe, drumming, purple hair, and cuddling with my cat Pretzel. She loves when I think “I can do it!” And she loves watching me grow and cheering me on.

My Spirit could do without all of the violence, toxic chemicals, pollution, and constant fear-based news. My Spirit supports any choices I make that promote life, freedom, hope, health, and love over the former.

Simple Clearing Rituals

Using ritual is an ancient and super fun way of clearing negative energy. There are countless ways of doing this but one of my favorites is through simple Smudging with a Sage stick or a fun Ritual Cleansing Bath!

For the Smudging:

Before you begin, open a window or door. Place the Sage stick in an abalone shell, or a clay bowl, and light with a wooden match. Then gently blow out the flame, letting the material continue to smolder.

Metaphorically wash your hands in the smoke, take some over your eyes, your ears, your heart, and your head. Breathe a little bit in, and waft a little bit over your body. Do this mindfully and with the intention of clearing negative energy and blockages.

For the Bath:

Simply set an intention of clearing and connecting with Spirit, draw a bath with your favorite bath soak/salts/or essential oils, add some favorite personal objects to the space that represent Spirit to you (or other spiritual objects), light a candle, and then relax into your cleansing bath – mind body spirit style! This can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. End by repeating your intention and perhaps a positive affirmation or inspiring quote that moves you.

Another way to clear negative energy on a regular basis is through a Daily Gratitude Practice. Just list everything you are grateful for once a day! It truly is a magical practice that feeds the Spirit.

Beautifully written, Brandy. I love the wonderful list that you share with some of the many ways we can support our spirit and found myself smiling as I realized how many of them I do on a regular basis.

Love, love, love the cleansing bath. Sometimes I add flower essences to mine, depending on what I want to accomplish. Thank you for such a gentle, loving post. Three cheers for “Spirit!”

Wonderful Brandy!! It is true that the spirit is perfect as it is what needs to change is our awareness of it. I can say that today, I have already listened to some music that I loved, which is kept on my IPOD 🙂 I also have practiced being vulnerable today by posting my own blog out there for the world to see. Thanks for your article!
